Reusing glass bottles

Since I started to live on my own, I've becoming more creative in reusing certain containers. I'm also getting fancy with glass bottles, glass jars and tin jars.

Today I will be sharing how I reuse the unused glass bottles and turn it into oil dispensers.

Two months ago, we bought Bickford's premium cordials and once it finished, I removed the label and cleaned the bottle. In order for me to turn this into oil dispenser, I'm gonna need oil pour spout.

We bought Peach Iced Tea flavour and it tasted really good!
Looks fancy, right?
In the beginning, I wanted to buy one from Lazada or Shopee. The price is super cheap but since I'm thrifty, I don't think so the shipping fee is worth it. Some more, I wouldn't know whether the nozzle size fits the bottle opening perfectly or not. Then, I realized that each of olive oil bottle sold in supermarket comes with an oil stopper and I knew my Mom uses olive oil in her cooking and boy, she keeps all the unused glass bottles too. Then, I tried to fit in one of the oil stoppers into my Bickford bottle and it fitted perfectly!

Then, I used the funnel to pour the cooking oil into this bottle
Oh, you must have been wondering why do I need to store my cooking oil inside this glass bottle? Because my husband taught me to purchase Minyak Masak Bersubsidi that is being sold for RM2.50 in 1 kilogram packet. We just started to live on our own anyway, so I guess this cooking oil is fine.

Thank you former government for this initiative!

I reused the Olive Oil bottle to store the remaining of 250ml cooking oil.
As for the glass bottle that doesn't have the cap, I'm turning it into a flower vase just like what I did to that perfume bottle.
At the end of the day, I feel great not only because I managed to save RM60.00 (average price for 500ml Glass Oil Dispenser is RM30.00) but to reduce my ecological footprint as well!

I'm slowly but surely adapting to these 3R activities for a better planet. In fact, my husband and I have started to bring our own shopping bags and in recent grocery shopping trips, we successfully did it without purchasing a single supermarket plastic bag.

Woman's Breasts Need A Break Too!

As I was browsing the online store to buy myself a couple of new bras, I stumbled upon news saying research has found that bras do nothing to help support a woman's breasts and could even be doing damage,

"Our first results confirm the hypothesis that the bra is a false need," Rouillon told France Info. "Medically, physiologically, anatomically, the breast does not benefit from being deprived of gravity. Instead, it languishes with a bra."

The 15-year study involved 330 volunteers between the ages 18 and 35. Researchers measured their breasts using a slide ruler and a caliper and recorded any changes throughout the study period.

When I read this, I feel relieved with the result of study because truthfully, I don't like to wear bra when I'm staying at home for all day long. I only wear bra when I leave the house or there's a guest coming to our place. Most of the time that I spend at home, I go braless because I really think it's unnecessary to wear bra at home. Some of my friends would commented saying my breast will sag faster if I don't wear bra but here is what the researcher has found;

Professor Jean-Denis Rouillon, a sports medicine specialist from Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Besancon in Besancon, France, published a study that shows that wearing bras may not prevent women's breasts from sagging, and may in fact increase it.

Women who did not wear bras had a 7 millimeter lift as measured from their nipples each year. Their breasts were also firmer, and their stretch marks faded.

The researchers believed that wearing bras prevented the growth of breast tissue, which lead to deterioration of the muscles that support the breasts. If you don't wear a bra, the muscles are worked-out more, the findings suggest.

Overall, he found that women who did not use bras benefited in the long term, developing more muscle tissue to provide natural support. As France’s The Local notes, Rouillon also noticed that nipples gained a higher lift, in relation to the shoulders, on women who went braless. When bras are worn, the restrictive material prevents such tissue from growing, which may actually accelerate sagging, the study concluded.

To confirm this, I looked up more about premature breast sagging and ran some test on my breasts to see whether they're sagging or not. Therefore to answer the questions, I ran the following tests:

THE PENCIL TEST
Place a pencil under the breast under-fold and if your breasts hold the pencil, then you have sagging.
My result: Negative. The pencil fell down.

THE BRA TEST
Do you need a bra to keep your breasts up on your chest?
My answer: Nope.
Do your breasts fall when you remove your bra?
My answer: Nope. In fact, they stayed in the same shape even after I removed the bra.
My result: Negative.

The reason why my friend made such comment because she thought that my breasts are not blossom enough. Little did she know, I've stopped wearing underwire and push-up bra since two years ago and women have different breast shapes. Just because your breast is not fuller enough, doesn't mean it's sagging.

Different shapes of women's breasts

Sagging breasts means the nipples are pointing downward but mine are absolutely not. My breasts tissue also seems to be placed perfectly.

Since I've hit puberty and developed mature breasts shape in my late teens, I don't wear bra religiously at home and now I am turning 26 years old and to me, at least in retrospect, I don't develop premature breast sagging due to my braless habit.

However ladies, breast sagging is a natural process that happens with age where the breasts lose their suppleness and elasticity. Like all the tissue in our body, they’re made up of collagen and elastin, which break down as we age. If you're married and have children, and your breasts started to sag, it's normal because enlargement of the breasts during pregnancy, followed by their deflation after the end of breast feeding, stretches the Cooper’s Ligaments which reducing fibrous tissue, breast volume and leading to sagging. But if you're unmarried and never got pregnant but your breasts begin to droop, it's a sign of premature breast sagging. Fret not, there are remedies for breast lifts.

WHY I STOPPED WEARING UNDERWIRE BRA
Two years ago, the introduction of Genie Bra caught my attention. It looks like a women sports bra. Genie Bra has no seams, wires, hooks or adjusting straps. It is made from nylon; its stretchable soft fabric provides a comfortable wear.

It fits well and with it having no adjusting straps, I never have the inconvenience of the straps slipping off my shoulders. Each bra comes with removable pads which can be slipped in the specially designed insert pockets to provide extra lift and coverage support, to enhance shape and for perkier look.

Most importantly, I don't have to deal with the normal bra's underwire's poking out since Genie Bra is wireless. The support is adequate and it doesn't push my breasts up as a push-up bra which I really love because I don't like to draw men's attention to my bust.

Knitted wide support band conceals back fats and bulges

But, let me just be honest. The reason why I'm switching from underwire bra because Genie Bra is machine washable and never loses its shape! I repeat, NEVER! I had enough dealing with the poking through wire, loose strap and distorted cup shape of underwire bra. I've been wearing Genie Bra for almost two years and it still fits me perfectly although it's getting worn out.

Genie Bra is not the prettiest and sexiest lingerie but rather adequate for their practicality, moderate support and comfort.

What is your impression?

When you are at the counter, paying bills, what is your first impression towards the cashier? Have you ever give a thought about it? I’m not talking about anee at Mapley by the way. Let’s say the cashier at the fast food restaurant or promoter at Jusco.

When I was a customer. Was? Yes, when I’ve never had any working experience, I always thought that most of them didn’t further their studies. They only had SPM qualification, they are lazy to study and that is why they stuck with this kind of dead-end job. But what makes me think that way? I guess, that’s what I learned from school back then. *shrugs*

Now, I’m in their shoes. I am currently a full time student and part time worker. I have never thought I’m gonna do part time job while I’m studying but I’m enjoying the hectic in juggling the tasks. After 2 months of having the job, I’ve just discovered that most of them do have at least a Diploma qualification. Well, that’s totally changed my perceptions. And I’m glad I did.

The best thing I’ve learned from this job is to study people’s behaviors. Frankly speaking, those customers whom being disrespects towards us should feel ashamed with themselves. I did have a few incidents with such customers. They are being so rude and I just don’t understand why they just can’t listen to us when we said ‘No’. If you are wise or educated enough, no means no. We do have our policies and procedures to be followed and sometimes, these stupid customers are such a pain in our arse. Fine, memang orang pandang kerja kami ringan, kerja kuli and we look like people-that-didn’t-further-study-because-our-SPM-sucks.

But that’s not the issue. It’s not how we look like but it’s how the customers treat us. Just because we do ker ja kuli, you shouldn’t have look down on others and being rude to us. It does test my patience because you know we can’t counter back with higher tone when customer gets so emotional with the things that he/she feels right when they are actually wrong or intentionally don’t want to understand our policies. Um what? Customers always right? Hell yeah~ whatever~

How rude they can be, don’t you wonder? Well, something like this. (FYI, I’m working at TGV cinema)
Customer: * dissatisfied tone* Why did they cut the scene? There should be a scene where it shows the baby got lifted and blablablabla…!
Me: I’m sorry miss but we will only show the film that we got from the production house.
Customer: Blablablabla….! But other cinemas did show that scene.. blablablabla…!
Me: *interrupts* because different cinemas get different version of films. Well miss, if you are not clear regarding this matter, you can see my manager and talk about it.
Customer: *reluctant face*No. I don’t need to see your manager. I just want to let you know that I’ve paid for the movie and you guys are so stupid for cutting the scene. Your cinema suck! No one should have come here. I won’t come here again. *throws her drink loudly into the bin*
Me: *sarcastic tone* Thank you for your feedback miss and we really appreciate that. *smiles*

Dalam hati, “MIND YOUR LANGUAGE YOUNG LADY!! ~!@#$%^&*()!!”
Do you know that once you entered the cinema hall, there will be a runner opened another door (at the end of movie) and you need to exit to from that door? You can’t exit from the same door that you’ve entered earlier because it will disrupt the loading traffic. But this rude customer, dah lah tak reti bahasa nak keluar ikut exit door. Keluar nak ikut ticket point. Pastuh cakap kurang ajar. Orang lain pun bagi komen juga, tapi tak perlulah nak guna perkataan kurang ajar macam tu. No offence, but most of rude customers that I’ve dealt with are Arabians including that rude missy. It’s just hard for them to obey the rules. Kenapa ya?

Moving on. I’m not sure about you guys but I really don’t mind to woo or just say ‘Hye’ to the male cashiers/promoters that I think is cute. As a matter of fact, I do like to check out good looking guys. ;) Hoho. If you are like me, don’t feel downgraded to woo the male or female cashiers that you think is cute. Usually, our friends will give comment like this:
“Awek cashier macam tu pun kau nak ngorat? Apa barang der!”
Just ignore them. Because who knows that cashier might be a student or have his/her own business. Personally, they are better because they’re earning income from their own efforts not from parent’s money or study loans lepas tu shopping-mahal-mahal-makan-mahal-mahal-macam-bagai walhal diri baru bergelar pelajar universiti sahaja.

Kerja kuli is mostly filled up by part timers. One tip from me, DO NOT THROW AWAY THE RECEIPT because there is a cashier’s name on the receipt and you can search their names on the Facebook ! How cool cheesy is that? Haha! As for me, I usually make a move by having a little conversation with them. I usually do this to the shop that I go regularly. :P

Last but not least, no matter what is the job status or academic qualification of a person, please treat everyone equally as a human being. Cashiers, promoters, sellers at Uptown and such are one the factors that contribute to our economies growth okay?

Peace!

Crush(s) and I

Have you ever been in a situation where you have a big crush on someone but don't know how to approach him/her? Okay, I would like to share my personal experiences in approaching my crushes. Oh yes, word crush with s at the end. =P

I still remember one of my cutest childhood memory. I had this HUGE crush on my tuition mate when I was in form three. I didn't have the guts to approach him or to start a conversation. So I was happy just to be his secret admirer and I thought we will not meet each other after we're done with PMR. But guess what? Two years later, we met each other back. At that time, I was extremely happy to see him back and we went to the same tuition center, again.

So this time, I shall not miss any chances. I will approach him and I want him to notice my presence. However, I didn't plan for all this. One day, my dad insisted to send me early to the tuition class to avoid traffic jammed. (My place is at Keramat and my tuition center is at Cheras)

I don't like to go early because I have to wait for the previous class finishes. But that day, changed everything.  I was sitting on the floor, alone, reading my notes then I saw him, my crush, walk out from the lift and he saw me! Of course he noticed I was looking at him so I quickly give him a warm smile. He replied my smile. (Wheee!) I looked down and pretending read my notes. Later, I heard his voice calling for me. (For real?) And that's how we gotta know each other and become friends. Since then, I have always come early just to have some time with him because he told me, nobody come early like he did. Yes. He was right.

So my advise would be; you need to identify when is the time, where is the place your crush usually goes alone. A warm smile is always a good start.

Moving on, this happened during last semester. I had a crush on one of my senior in the college. I've noticed him since I was in second semester. I've always wanted to say 'hye' to him. Finally, I've got guts to do that but in a creative way. I drew myself in a cartoon version, cut it out and at the back of paper, I wrote 'HYE'. I wanted to put it on his bag. My idea was to do it repeatedly until he bothers to know who is the sender of the papers.

One day, I didn't manage to put the paper secretly on his back because I couldn't find his bag when he left it outside library. So with the courage I had, I confront him and give him that paper and said, "this is for you" *big smiles and run away!*

To my surprised, he called me back from behind... I turned around and went back to get him. He gave me back that piece of paper. I was disappointed. "He doesn't want to accept that. He must have a girlfriend already.." I thought to myself. He was smiling happily.. I smiled at him back but inside I wasn't. I left him with a bitter feeling and I went to get Sherry back. With a disappointing voice I said to her that he returned back the paper.

Sherry took the paper from my hand and she flipped the paper. Suddenly she asked, "Anis, did you give your number to him?".
"No, I didn't. Why?" I replied.
"Then, who's number is this?" she showed the back side of the paper.
*jaw-drops*
"OMG!! He gave me his number!" I cried.

Guess what? He wrote me his number at the back of my drawing. I just wanted to say 'hye' to him.

Most of my friends said what I did was a total cute. I thought so. Hehe. The reason why I used orange colour paper is because my bagpack is in orange colour and that cartoon drawing looks exactly like me when I'm in college. The center parting of fringe and ponytail. =)

So what are you waiting for? Don't you get a little of inspiration from reading this entry? Go get your crush now! Good luck! =D

Myspace Tricks

Today, I'm gonna show you some tricks that you can apply on Myspace.

Hiding comments and top friends are very popular among myspace users especially the hot ones. Actually, you still can view them. But how?

First thing you need to learn is, FRIEND ID. What is FRIEND ID?

1. Go home and view your profile.
2. Look at the URL space on your browser and you will found number series after the "friendid="

Link above is my profile, so my friend ID is 6373959.

Friend ID is the key to everything. So let's get started. If you wanna view someone's comment which he/she has hide it, paste this url into your URL space;
http://comment.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewComments&friendID=FRIEND ID

Same goes to view the top friends too.
http://friends.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewfriends&friendID=6373959

Next, it's all about pictures.
As you may know, we can create albums with Myspace. You can set a picture you don't want people to view full size but show it as a default picture.

1. Create a new album and set it to private.
2. Upload a new picture into it and set that picture as a default.

Now it's time for arts people who wants to show off their artworks on Myspace. Maybe most of you have found that Myspace shrink down the quality of your image. I recommend you to set the width of your image to 600 pixels and the height is auto. And the most important thing is, save that image in PNG format.

p/s: Bored. Got nothing to do.

How to show appreciation to the toilet

Have you ever get into a public toilet and suddenly, the bad smell rush into your nose? Then, you will step out from that small room and decided not going to throw 'anything' there. Hehe. That smell could be the 'drop-it-like-its-hot' or because of the not-accurate-and-precise aim of ur urine... Huhu. So today, let's talk about toilet! I wrote it based on my personal experience okayh? =P

*Only applicable in Malaysia because typical Malaysia's washroom/bathroom doesn't have carpet and the floors are wet.

1. Clean the toilet before you use it.
Regardless whether the toilet is clean or smelly when you enter it, quickly take the hosepipe and water the toilet bowl, the toilet sit (for flush toilet) and the surrounding wall.

If you think there's something inside the toilet bowl that hasn't been flushed down yet (eg: tissues, cigarette, urine, poopoo ), press the flush button for the modern public toilet or pull down the flush lever. Sometimes, it is not enough just to press once. What I noticed about some modern public toilet who used the flush button, the water pressure and the pumping-water-system is low. Hence, you should press it until all the unwanted stuffs been flushed away.

By doing so, you will know that there's water running in the tap. You don't want to feel unclean when found that there's no water. Moreover, you have done your 'job'.

2. Do your 'job' precisely.
- When using the toilets, do aim properly so as not to dirty the floor and wall.
- When using the toilet paper, just pull the exact pieces so that they would not litter the floor.
- Flush the toilet thoroughly after use.
- Dispose all unwanted stuffs into the bins instead of conveniently throwing them on the floor. Do not ever throw them into the toilet bowl!

3. Repeat step 1.

This community service is brought by aReNieX. ;D

BTW, let's take a look of some today's ridiculous public toilet.

a VERY public toilet! It's one way mirror! I can't imagine having myself pooping and seeing people outside's walking. xD

open, pee and go!

Something pervy is hidden below here. =x
