It's been 2 weeks since my classes have started and I'm having a pile of homework that is need to be done. I really don't have any problems with that. So far, only Maths and English class are available whereas we haven't got the lecturers for Management and Account classes. Because of the idiot administration people, we're the one who has to suffer now. FYI, my college were expecting only 600 new UiTM students will enter the KPTM Bangi and what a big shock to them when they received 854 UiTM students. Hence, there are so many classes and short of lecturers.
Plus, my English lecturer is planning to take a long leave at the end of the semester therefore she's doing the replacement class from the first week. Can you imagine to have the same class every single day? She will give us a homework in every class and we will present it to class on the next day. It's sickening me to write essays everyday. Somehow I feel like I'm doing TESL. Heh.
But I'm quite hardworking since entered the college. I'll make sure I get my homework done before the next class because I know that there's no more spoon-feeding and actually, self-learning is somehow exciting. And oh, guess what peeps? I'm breaking my personal records by beating the guys in my maths class! I've never done that before! Yipee! Hehe. I found myself recently that I like Maths! Maybe because the syllabus for Maths in Business is much simpler than Add Maths.
After a while being here, I just miss those old good days during my school years. I can't never beat my genius guy friends at my tuition, I miss doing group discussion with my classmates especially with the Chinese and Indians. At here, they don't read much and that makes they don't know much things. If we're discussing, there's no argument and they will just accept anyone's idea as long the task given can be done as soon as possible. This is not what it's supposed to be. Where is the quality thinking?
Despite from that, I'm sad to see how pathetic they can be. We were given a task to write an essay about leadership and characteristics of a good leader. It's just a simple essay anyway but I can't write well when I don't have any materials because I know that my ideas can grow if I have anything to refer with. So, I went to the library, find some books and managed to complete my essay. The next day, the people who hasn't finish it gave the lame excuses; they don't have any ideas about it and they need to surf internet to find it.
I feel like knocking their heads because, HELLO! What do you think the use of library? Why would you waste your money to cyber cafe when you can find numerous of articles and books about it? This is just beginning. I think that most of teenagers these days didn't even know how to use a book.
I'm interested with what Royal Professor Ungku Aziz said about Kiasu. He wants to tackle the Malay dilemma, wants Bumiputeras to have the Kiasu drive to succeed. Kiasu means fear of losing.
This word is so widely used by Singaporeans and Malaysians. It is often used in describing the social attitudes of people. Its widespread use is often because these attitudes are common; to not lose out in a highly competitive society, or to the extent of parents imposing heavy study labor on their children in their wish to make them at the very top of all other students. Growing up with this attitude, these students often become ambitious businesspeople, with the desire to be on top in wealth and prestige regardless of whether the most prestigious careers are aligned with their true capabilities.
To make it simple, it's enough to remind yourself by saying 'I want to be the best', 'I want to be number one' in everything you do. That's what I'm doing now. I'm trying to get lecturer's attention. I love sitting in the first row of class. I like to teach people how to think-out-of-box. I like to exposed my friends' mind with political issues. I'm learning by copying and altering. It's not like I'm trying to be cocky here but I have to set the turning point of my life. I wanna be different and outstanding from others. That would make my life worth it.

If you're not born to be different, then try to be outstanding.
